VESSEL DATA MONITORING

Monitoring solutions from shipping for shipping

Nowadays, in a shipping company, it is essential that good monitoring is used to monitor the performance of the ships. This requires a high degree of interaction and readiness both from the land side and from the ship's command on board. The goal is to optimally use and control the ships, which is then reflected in the economic success of the shipping company.

ITE Data Monitoring

We keep your vessels on track

The know-how of a shipping company is the real asset in the technical management of ocean-going ships. Our ITE Data Monitoring Team complements your know-how when it comes to collecting ship performance data. The ITE Monitoring System is a modular, open platform that is exclusively and exclusively available to you as a shipping company. There are three standard function blocks available, which can be individually expanded and supplemented by their open architecture. It is thus possible, for example, as a "corrective action" to monitor the "Feed Water Temperature" from the auxiliary boiler after a damage event on board and to replicate this data for onshore evaluations as well as threshold values for alarming e.g. To set mail. Technically, all available signals can be replicated from ship to shore for analysis directly or via interfaces freely accessible on board. All data collected or obtained can be third-party systems, such as a Planned Maintenance System, BI software, an ERP or other software application can be made available within the shipping company for further processing. These data are not made available to the shipping company as customers exclusively in a kind of "cloud" and not in dependence on other software applications.

POWER MONITORING

Our ITE Energy Monitoring creates the necessary transparency about energy generation and consumption on board as well as the possibility to actively counteract and intervene.

Measures such as the targeted switching off of consumers, switching on own producers or

the delayed switching on of loads can lower energy costs. Times in which the generators are not at the optimum efficiency on the grid are minimized. Large energy consumers, such as Inert gas systems, reefer containers, boosters, combustion air fans are monitored for their runtime and consumption. As a function e.g. individual threshold values of a responsible superintendent are defined and alarm types are defined when exceeded.

ALARM MONITORING

The ITE Alarm Monitoring module can be connected to any alarm system on board that has installed an alarm printer specified by the classification societies. The data stream of the alarm pressure on board is read out without affecting the functioning of the pressure. The printer's ASCII data is prepared and replicated on land for analysis. It is thus possible to evaluate the entire alarm history and to report important events such as "Main Engine Shut Down" e.g. to be informed by email. The data sets generated serve the superintendent on land and on board, filtered by groups and events e.g. to prepare a shipyard time or for inspection on board.

NMEA MONITORING

The ITE NMEA monitoring module is connected to the existing NMEA backbone on the bridge on board. NMEA 0183 or 2000 is a defined international standard for communication between navigation devices on seagoing vessels and the content is freely available at the same time. With a NMEA TCP / IP converter, all available NMEA data are replicated ashore for analysis. This database is prepared and made available on land according to the shipping company's specifications. Values such as Course, speed, position, wind, draft etc. are displayed and possible threshold values are defined. It is thus possible as an example to inform about defined alarm routes if the "Underwater Keel Clearance" is undershot, e.g. by email to the DPA or a defined group of people. This means that all available NMEA data can be used optimally on board and ashore and thus contribute significantly to transparent and safe ship operation.

DATA MONITORING

Our ITE data monitoring solution is a modular open system that is also installed on board. Technically, all common protocols, e.g. Modbus, Profibus, CAN bus are read on board and their data content is replicated on land. Since most manufacturers, of the units and equipment installed on board, provide their data openly, it is possible to provide a central solution for data transmission on land. A Beckhoff PLC serves as hardware, which is approved for ship operation with the required certificates. The open architecture of the system, which is also provided here, allows the Beckhoff PLC to be equipped with additional modules for recording and connections for digital and analog values. Technically, an almost unlimited number of data from e.g. Switching states, temperatures or analog values are recorded and replicated and made available on land for analysis.
